* At Nick’s Trains, we try to keep most items in stock at all times.  That way, when you come to our shop, you can get what you want or need immediately.  But there are thousands of items for model trains and we don’t have them all, so on our website pages we try to describe their immediate availability in our shop.  

 

“In stock” means that we try to keep the item (or category of items) in stock at all times.

 

“Some in stock” means that we have many items of a certain category of items (like Peco HO Code 75 sectional track, for instance) in stock, but we may not have them all.

 

“Order” means that we do not usually keep the item in stock but will order it.  There is no special charge for ordering items.  We just put them on the list with our regular weekly orders. 

 

Finally, in spite of our best efforts, we occasionally run out of “In stock” items.  So if you’re looking for something specific, you might want to contact us (919-881-1010 and nick@nicks-trains.com) before you come, particularly if you’re coming a long distance.
